Wednesday's practice also provided an update on an injured defenseman and his timeline

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Jansen Harkins cleared waivers and is expected to join the Syracuse Crunch, while head coach Jon Cooper tested new power-play combinations during Wednesday's practice. With Tampa Bay starting the season 0-for-13 on the man advantage, defensemen John Carlson and Charle-Edouard D'Astous skated on the top unit ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Minnesota Wild.
In additional team updates, defenseman Emil Lilleberg practiced in a non-contact jersey after sustaining an injury against the Washington Capitals. Head coach Jon Cooper indicated Lilleberg should return in approximately one week, while Dominic James practiced after Harkins was waived to create roster space.
