Detroit Red Wings’ Simon Edvinsson has been the center of a lot of conversations lately, as he remains without a contract with the 2026-27 season well underway.
The Hockey Writers proposes a speculative trade scenario that would send unsigned Detroit Red Wings defenseman Simon Edvinsson to the Nashville Predators. Edvinsson, 23, reportedly prefers a trade rather than re-signing with Detroit for the 2026-27 season, although the Red Wings still prefer to retain him and no official trade talks have taken place between the two franchises.
Under the suggested permanent trade, Nashville would acquire Edvinsson, potentially signing him to a seven-year, $8.5 million annual extension. In return, the proposal suggests the Red Wings receive forwards Reid Schaefer and Joakim Kemell alongside draft capital.
