Utah Mammoth Defenceman Will Miss Significant Time After Preseason Injury

The Utah Mammoth announced on September 28, 2026, that defenceman Maveric Lamoureux underwent surgery to repair a dislocated shoulder. Lamoureux suffered the injury during a preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Kings. As confirmed by General Manager Bill Armstrong, the 22-year-old defenceman is expected to miss approximately four to six months while recovering.

Lamoureux had been competing for an opening-night roster spot before the injury. Following his rehabilitation, he is expected to join the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners. Utah opens its 2026-27 season on October 1 against the Chicago Blackhawks, with depth on right defense including Andrew Peeke, MacKenzie Weegar, John Marino, and Nick DeSimone.
