The Utah Mammoth earned a 2-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday in their final preseason matchup before the 2026-27 NHL regular season begins. Utah utilized a roster close to its projected opening night lineup against an Avalanche squad composed largely of AHL players. Logan Cooley helped create a power-play goal as Utah converted on the man advantage for the third consecutive game.
Goaltender Karel Vejmelka earned his first shutout of the preseason by stopping all 25 shots faced. Head coach André Tourigny noted that special teams remain a work in progress despite early success on the power play, where the team finished 1-for-9 on the night.
