Canucks Suddenly Face New Problem Before Opening Night

Vancouver Canucks winger Jake DeBrusk did not practice Monday due to a lower-body injury ahead of Tuesday's season opener against the Edmonton Oilers. Head coach Manny Malhotra indicated the team is taking a cautious approach as DeBrusk undergoes re-evaluation and imaging, though he did travel with the team to Edmonton.

DeBrusk was expected to start on the top line alongside Elias Pettersson and Jonathan Lekkerimäki after recording three points in Saturday's 4-3 preseason win over Seattle. Arshdeep Bains filled DeBrusk's spot in practice, while Vancouver is already starting the season without Thatcher Demko and Filip Chytil.
