Vancouver allowed three power-play goals, bringing its season penalty-kill rate down to 52.2%. Linus Karlsson scored the lone goal for the Canucks on a power play, while Nico Hischier scored twice and Jesper Bratt added another for the Devils.

Goaltender Leevi Meriläinen started for Vancouver and made 31 saves, but briefly exited late in the first period after losing a skate blade.
