The Story in 60 Seconds

Goaltender James Reimer could make his New York Rangers debut against the Los Angeles Kings after being the first goalie off the ice at practice. The 38-year-old recently signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with New York following his release from a professional tryout with the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack. His arrival provides depth alongside rookie Dylan Garand after Igor Shesterkin suffered a season-ending injury.

Elsewhere in the Metropolitan Division, newly acquired Jack St. Ivany skated with the Washington Capitals, while defenseman Jakob Chychrun took a maintenance day. For the Carolina Hurricanes, defenseman Alexander Nikishin is not yet practicing with the NHL roster following a contract holdout and may require an AHL conditioning stint, while forward Taylor Hall returned to full practice after an upper-body injury.
