The Winnipeg Jets have claimed goaltender Clay Stevenson off waivers from the Washington Capitals organization, according to reporter Elliotte Friedman. The move comes as Winnipeg prepares for the upcoming regular season amid an ongoing trade holdout by suspended goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.

According to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press, Stevenson will step into the backup goaltender role behind starter Stuart Skinner. Stevenson previously posted a 0.921 save percentage across four starts with Washington in 2025-26, and his arrival allows goaltending prospect Domenic DiVincentiis to continue developing with the AHL's Manitoba Moose.
