Brimson's exit from the Titans is still likely, but money and 2027 remain issues.

AJ Brimson's future remains unresolved as the PNG Chiefs are reportedly refusing to cover his entire salary for a proposed move in 2028. The Gold Coast Titans utility has permission to leave immediately to pursue his preferred fullback position, but his current contract worth around $900,000 per season through 2030 presents a significant financial hurdle.
While the Chiefs want Brimson for their 2028 inaugural season, their heavy expenditure on stars like Jarome Luai and Brian To'o complicates paying his full wage. Brimson also faces the challenge of securing a club for a one-year stopover in 2027.
