One of the greatest Bulldogs of all-time is part of the Lebanon camp at the World Cup.

Canterbury Bulldogs legend Hazem El Masri has taken up padel in Sydney, showcasing his athleticism in the fast-growing racquet sport. At 50 years old, the former NRL star was named an honorary member at Club Padel Spot. Alongside his new hobby, El Masri discussed his upcoming mentorship role with the Lebanon national team ahead of their match against France following their 42-18 defeat to Papua New Guinea.
El Masri also evaluated the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs' 2026 campaign, noting that complacency contributed to inconsistent performances throughout the season. He defended coach Cameron Ciraldo and general manager Phil Gould, stating that the squad needs additional forwards to ease the workload. He praised incoming recruits Freddy Lussick, Jesse McLean, Connor Votano, and Jaxson Allen as positive additions to the club's depth.
