Joe Marchant is ready to battle for England's outside centre spot after returning to English club rugby with Sale Sharks. The former Harlequins back spent three years in France playing for Stade Francais in the Top 14 before re-entering national contention, where he recently trained in Bagshot.
Marchant faces direct competition for the number 13 jersey from Henry Slade and Will Joseph ahead of the Nations Championship. The centre believes his time playing in France provided valuable experience, having previously started five of seven World Cup matches during his earlier England run.
