Alexander Zverev, 29, who won his first two Grand Slam titles this year, has clinched the year-end No. 1 men's tennis ranking.

Alexander Zverev secured the ATP year-end No. 1 ranking on Monday following Carlos Alcaraz's loss to Zizou Bergs at the Shanghai Masters. The 29-year-old German, currently ranked No. 2, will overtake the injured Jannik Sinner before the tennis season concludes next month. Zverev becomes the oldest player to achieve the year-end top ranking for the first time in his career.
The achievement caps a dominant campaign for Zverev, who claimed his first two Grand Slam titles this season at the French Open and U.S. Open. Meanwhile, Sinner announced he will miss the remainder of the season because of right knee inflammation, solidifying Zverev's position atop the rankings.
