“Just sad” – Martina Navratilova furious after Valkyries fans attack XX-XY founder at WNBA Finals over anti-transgender athlete position

Martina Navratilova expressed her anger after Golden State Valkyries fans verbally targeted XX-XY founder Jennifer Sey during Game 1 of the WNBA Finals. The confrontation occurred due to Sey's public stance against the inclusion of transgender women in female sports categories. Reacting on social media to video footage of fans insulting Sey, the 18-time Grand Slam singles champion described the situation as "just sad."

Sey, a former national artistic gymnastics champion, launched her sportswear brand XX-XY in 2024 to oppose trans women competing in women's sports. Navratilova frequently utilizes social media platform X to express her agreement with preserving biological sex distinctions in athletics, as well as commenting on broader political and legal matters.
