The 49ers are reportedly signing linebacker Eugene Asante as injuries and a suspension leave San Francisco short-handed at the position ahead of Week 6.

The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly signing linebacker Eugene Asante, according to KNBR's Larry Krueger. Asante was one of four linebackers who recently worked out for the team. The move comes ahead of San Francisco's Week 6 Monday night matchup against the Washington Commanders at Levi's Stadium.
The signing provides depth with Dre Greenlaw serving a one-game suspension and Garret Wallow sidelined by a hamstring strain. Asante entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn in 2025 and spent time with several NFL teams as well as the UFL's Houston Gamblers.
