Former Celtic forward Daizen Maeda scored his first goal for Ipswich Town to equalize against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Phil Foden had put City ahead just two minutes prior, but Maeda struck in the 21st minute. Despite Ipswich's spirited display, league leaders Manchester City ultimately secured a 3-2 victory.
Maeda joined Ipswich Town under manager Gary O'Neil in a £10 million permanent transfer during the summer. Prior to the move, the Japanese international made 212 appearances for Celtic, scoring 79 goals and winning 10 major honours across four and a half years with the Scottish club.
