The Toronto Maple Leafs are set to make some roster moves during their Western road trip as a 12-year veteran has been added to the roster.
Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Tavares is away from the team for personal reasons during their Western road trip, leaving his availability uncertain for Saturday's game against the Colorado Avalanche. In response to Tavares's absence, veteran forward Miles Wood joined the team in Denver after previously playing in the AHL.
Tavares has posted one goal and two assists in five games this season as Toronto's second-line center. The roster adjustment follows a frustrating shootout loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, where the Maple Leafs surrendered an early 3-0 lead.
