The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson stated that securing a new contract for 18-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha is a must for the club. Ngumoha has under two years remaining on his current deal and is drawing interest from Arsenal and Bayern Munich following his senior England debut. With injuries to Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo, Ngumoha could start against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

Johnson also dismissed the idea of Dominik Szoboszlai playing regularly at right-back under manager Andoni Iraola, calling it a waste of Liverpool's best midfielder. Instead, Johnson backed on-loan defender Ronald Araujo to retain his starting place at right-back over Jeremie Frimpong due to his defensive solidity.
