It appears the Eagles will be without yet another starter on Sunday in Week 6 against the Panthers.
Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio stated it would be "pretty miraculous" for edge rusher Jalyx Hunt to play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Hunt suffered left knee and ankle injuries during Philadelphia's Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fangio noted Hunt's aggressive mindset toward rehab, offering hope that the edge defender will avoid a stint on injured reserve.
Hunt's expected absence further depletes an Eagles pass rush that has registered only six sacks this season. Meanwhile, running back Will Shipley reportedly suffered a partial tear of his plantar fascia against Jacksonville and is expected to miss several weeks, leaving Philadelphia severely depleted across multiple positions.
