The Newcastle United heroes and villains of the 2020s

Writing for NUFC The Mag, contributor David Hutchinson selected his personal Newcastle United heroes and villains of the 2020s. Hutchinson named defender Dan Burn as his ultimate hero, praising his leadership, defensive impact, Champions League goals, and progression to becoming club captain. Jacob Murphy was chosen as the writer's cult hero for his consistent contributions and memorable moments on the pitch.

For villains, Hutchinson selected striker Alexander Isak as the primary pantomime villain, alongside an honorable mention for former sporting director Paul Mitchell. Additionally, the writer labeled social media transfer influencers as broader villains, criticizing their negative impact on fans and club negotiations during transfer windows.
