Barrow Raiders second rower or center Matty Costello has signed a one-year contract extension with the club. The former St Helens and Salford player featured in 20 games and scored seven tries this past season as head coach Paul Crarey's side finished sixth and reached stage three of the play-offs.

Costello has made 65 appearances and scored 18 tries for Barrow since joining permanently ahead of the 2024 season. Director of rugby Andy Gaffney praised Costello's reliability and versatility across the back row and center, stating his know-how and experience are vital for the team to push forward.
