The New York Islanders might have just made the best signing of the offseason, without it actually getting much press.

Writer Nestor Quixtan argues that defenseman Logan Stanley may be the best free-agent signing of the NHL offseason for the New York Islanders. Stanley, who signed a $1.5 million deal just before the regular season began, quickly stepped into a prominent role following a season-ending injury to Alexander Romanov.
Quixtan notes that the 28-year-old blueliner has formed an effective pairing with Matthew Schaefer under head coach Peter DeBoer. Stanley logged 22:17 of ice time and delivered two hits during New York's recent 4-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
