The veteran defensive specialist brings gritty leadership and elite penalty-killing to Manhattan, offering the struggling Rangers a reliable bottom-six spark as he battles for a roster spot.

The New York Rangers have signed veteran forward Luke Glendening to a professional tryout agreement (PTO). The 37-year-old defensive specialist will battle for a roster spot on a struggling Rangers team looking to boost its bottom-six depth and penalty-killing capabilities.
Glendening has spent 14 seasons in the NHL, featuring for the Detroit Red Wings, Dallas Stars, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Last season, the forward split time between the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers before securing this tryout opportunity with New York.
