The Florida Panthers have recalled forward Cole Schwindt from the AHL's Charlotte Checkers, according to a team announcement. In a corresponding roster transaction, Florida reassigned veteran forward Sam Lafferty to Charlotte. Schwindt earned the call-up after recording one goal and three points across five games in the AHL this season.
Lafferty heads to the AHL to delay reaching waiver eligibility, as he was within five games or 14 days of requiring waivers. After signing a one-year, $850,000 contract during the offseason, Lafferty was scoreless with a minus-four rating in five appearances for Florida.
