Key Things to Know
  • The Miami Dolphins have released cornerback Storm Duck instead of activating him from the PUP list.
  • Duck could reportedly be re-signed to the Dolphins' practice squad if he clears league waivers.
  • The cornerback missed all but two games in 2025 following a significant knee injury.
The Story in 60 Seconds

The Miami Dolphins have released cornerback Storm Duck after facing a roster deadline regarding his status on the physically unable to perform list. Duck, who joined Miami as an undrafted free agent in 2024, missed nearly all of the 2025 season due to a knee injury and spent the first six weeks of the current campaign sidelined.

Although Duck recently returned to practice, the Dolphins chose not to activate him to the 53-man roster, potentially leaving an opportunity to re-sign him to the practice squad if he clears waivers. The decision was part of multiple roster moves on Tuesday, which also included waiving Andre Jones Jr. and cutting kicker Riley Patterson.
