It seems Romania has finally managed to overcome what had been some of its most troubling years after a promising opening campaign in the 2026 Nations Cup.

Diaspora players Logan Weidner and Nicolas Onutu reflected on representing Romania as the national rugby team builds momentum toward the 2027 Men's Rugby World Cup. After a strong showing in the 2026 Nations Cup, including a draw with Uruguay and a win against Samoa, Romania is preparing to host Tonga, the United States, and Canada in Bucharest.
Canadian-born forward Weidner and French-born back Onutu noted that integrating diaspora talent has provided fresh perspectives and raised standards for head coach David Gérard's squad.
