Hellebuyck arrived over the weekend in a blockbuster deal from the Winnipeg Jets after making a trade request and sitting out training camp.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is scheduled to make his New Jersey Devils debut on Tuesday night against the Dallas Stars. Head coach Sheldon Keefe announced the start following Hellebuyck's arrival in a blockbuster trade from the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. The 33-year-old netminder has participated in three team skating sessions since joining the club, including Tuesday's morning skate.
Hellebuyck had requested a trade over the summer and missed the entire preseason and the first 24 days of the regular season, forfeiting $927,835.05 in salary due to a team suspension. With Hellebuyck taking the net against Dallas, goaltender Jake Allen is expected to start the second half of the back-to-back set against the Colorado Avalanche.
