Tani Oluwaseyi scores as Villarreal advance in Copa del Rey with 5-0 win over 5th-tier CE Manacor

Villarreal advanced in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday following a dominant 5-0 victory over fifth-tier side CE Manacor. Canadian striker Tani Oluwaseyi starred for the LaLiga side, scoring a 26th-minute goal with a left-footed strike and providing an assist just after halftime. Alassane Diatta opened the scoring, while Sergi Cardona, Nizar El Jmili, and Nicolas Pepe rounded out the five-goal performance.

While Villarreal avoided an upset, other top-flight clubs struggled, with Espanyol suffering a shock defeat to fourth-tier Sestao River Club that led to manager Manolo Gonzalez being fired shortly afterward. Canadian winger Tajon Buchanan was an unused substitute for Villarreal, and Nathan Saliba was sidelined by a muscle injury as the Yellow Submarine prepared to face Espanyol on Friday.
