Marcellus Wiley's family law attorney has made a move to drop him as her client just one day after the former NFL-star was accused in a lawsuit of rape, new court documents obtained by the California Post show.

Former NFL star Marcellus Wiley's family law attorney, Lisa Helfend Meyer, has filed a motion in a Los Angeles County court to withdraw as his counsel in his ongoing divorce case. The request came just one day after Wiley was accused of rape in a newly filed lawsuit alleging an incident from 1999. Meyer cited a breakdown in the attorney-client relationship rather than the new allegations.
Meyer stated that Wiley failed to follow their retainer agreement, respond to communications, or provide necessary information. Wiley previously lost a domestic violence restraining order case against his estranged wife, Annemarie, who was granted a three-year order in September. A court hearing regarding Meyer's request to be relieved as counsel is scheduled for January 11.
