On Thursday, the roster purge began, as Grant McCray was scooped up off waivers by the Seattle Mariners. The move leaves Trevor McDonald as the only player remaining from the 2019 SF Giants draft class.

Trevor McDonald is the only player remaining from the San Francisco Giants' 2019 draft class following Grant McCray's departure to the Seattle Mariners via waivers. The waiver claim brought the Giants' 40-man roster down to 35 players as the team heads into a busy offseason filled with roster decisions.
McDonald posted a 5.12 ERA across 70.1 innings for San Francisco before undergoing Tommy John surgery midway through the season. According to writer Jeff Young, the right-hander is expected to miss most of the 2027 season, leaving the Giants with minimal return from their 40 selections in the 2019 draft.
