The Story in 60 Seconds

McCovey Chronicles opened community voting for the No. 5 spot on its 2027 San Francisco Giants prospect list after shortstop Jhonny Level secured the No. 4 ranking. Level earned 56 of 69 total votes in the previous ballot following a standout 2026 campaign split between Low-A San Jose and High-A Eugene. Writer Brady Klopfer noted that despite Level falling one spot from last year, his strong play solidified his standing.

The 19-year-old switch-hitter batted .325 with 10 home runs for San Jose before hitting .302 with eight homers for Eugene, while also stealing 26 bases across both levels. Klopfer highlighted that Level is expected to open the 2027 season in Double-A. Readers were invited to vote for the fifth spot among nominees including Carson Bolemon, Jacob Bresnahan, Argenis Cayama, Bo Davidson, Dakota Jordan, Gavin Kilen, and Ramon Marquez.
