Esteban Ocon has released his first statement after being dropped by Haas for the Mexico City Grand Prix, firmly denying rumors of a physical altercation with team principal Ayao Komatsu. Following a disagreement with his race engineer during free practice, Haas benched Ocon for the remainder of the race weekend.
Reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa replaced Ocon from FP3 onward. In his social media statement, Ocon acknowledged a discussion occurred due to differing viewpoints but categorically rejected claims of physical violence. It remains uncertain whether Ocon will return for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
