Lewis Hamilton claimed his first pole position since 2023 during Qualifying at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton secured his first pole position with Ferrari at the Mexico City Grand Prix, edging out Mercedes driver George Russell by 0.009 seconds. The Briton posted a lap time of 1m 16.514s at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to claim his 105th career pole position and his first since the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix.
The result makes Hamilton the oldest Formula 1 polesitter since Mario Andretti at the 1982 Italian Grand Prix. Hamilton described the achievement as special after Ferrari overcame early engine issues in practice, placing him in prime position to contend for a second race win of the season.
