George Russell bounced back from some disappointing results to qualify in P2 for the Mexico City Grand Prix. In a weekend focused on Kimi Antonelli…

Sky Sports commentator Karun Chandhok suggested that George Russell studied Ferrari's out-lap preparation to secure second place in qualifying for the Mexico City Grand Prix. Mercedes driver Russell temporarily held provisional pole in Q3 before former teammate Lewis Hamilton claimed his first pole position driving for Ferrari. Russell chose an alternate preparation approach from teammate Kimi Antonelli, who qualified seventh.
Despite earning a front-row start alongside Hamilton, Russell stated he remains frustrated with ongoing difficulties in getting on top of his car. Russell enters the Grand Prix holding a narrow one-point advantage over Hamilton in the battle for second place in the Drivers' Championship.
