Newcastle United prospect Anthony Munda was awarded the 2026 Wor Jackie Trophy during a Sport Newcastle dinner on Thursday night. The annual award recognizes a rising star from the Newcastle United academy and honors the club's late forward Jackie Milburn. Munda follows in the footsteps of previous winners including Elliot Anderson, Lewis Miley, Sean Longstaff, and last year's recipient, Sean Neave.
Munda, who joined the Newcastle academy at age nine in 2012, has progressed through the youth ranks and featured regularly for the Under-21 side. To gain senior experience, the midfielder completed a season-long loan move to League Two club Swindon Town in August for the 2026/27 campaign.
