Sheffield United lost 2-1 to Charlton Athletic at The Valley…

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder expressed his disappointment after his side suffered a 2-1 defeat against Charlton Athletic at The Valley, ending the Blades' recent unbeaten run. Charlton broke the deadlock through Millenic Alli's long-range strike, which caught out goalkeeper Michael Cooper. Jordan Ayew equalized with a header to score his first goal for Sheffield United before Matty Godden netted the winning goal for the Addicks in the 79th minute.
Wilder criticized his squad for conceding two avoidable goals and lamented losing control of the game against an opponent battling hard for results. The defeat was compounded by a severe injury to substitute defender Femi Seriki, who was stretchered off only minutes after entering the match and is now ruled out for the rest of the season.
