Former West Ham United striker Sébastien Haller has made an encouraging start to his career in Japan with J1 League side Sanfrecce Hiroshima. The 32-year-old forward joined the club during the summer after departing Utrecht and has registered three goals and one assist in his first six league appearances since his debut in August.
Haller originally joined West Ham for a club-record £45 million fee from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019 before moving to Ajax in January 2021. Following stints at Borussia Dortmund, Leganés, and Utrecht, as well as overcoming testicular cancer and scoring the winning goal for Ivory Coast in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations final, Haller has begun a new chapter in Japan.
