Massive Vikings Lineman Stolen Away by NFC Rival

The San Francisco 49ers signed defensive lineman Naquan Jones to a one-year deal off the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad. By signing Jones directly to their 53-man active roster, San Francisco was able to recruit the lineman away from Minnesota. In corresponding moves, the 49ers placed defensive lineman C.J. West on injured reserve and signed wide receiver Brandin Cooks and defensive lineman Viliami Fehoko Jr. to their practice squad.

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell publicly wished Jones well following the transaction. To fill the vacant spot on their practice squad, Minnesota subsequently re-signed veteran defensive lineman Jonathan Harris.
