Flyers Blank Bruins – Michkov Shines

The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Boston Bruins 2-0 in their 2026 preseason home opener. Recent acquisition Joseph Woll played all three periods in net to secure the shutout victory, aided by a late glove save with 43 seconds remaining. Matvei Michkov scored the game-winning goal 4:02 into the contest with a backhander from the side of the net, assisted by Porter Martone and Helge Grans.

Cole Knuble added the second goal for Philadelphia by burying a rebound set up by Jett Luchanko and Jacob Gaucher. The game also featured a fight between Philadelphia's Simon Benoit and Boston's Brian Halonen. Strong defensive contributions from Rasmus Ristolainen and physical play from Noel Acciari helped the Flyers control all 60 minutes.
