Aberdeen sanctioned for ‘serious incidents’ including fan pitch invasion

Aberdeen have received sanctions from the Scottish Professional Football League following fan misconduct during their Premier Sports Cup quarter-final win over Kilmarnock on September 12. Supporters staged an illegal pyrotechnics display and committed a pitch incursion at Rugby Park following their penalty shootout victory.

As a penalty, Aberdeen's ticket allocation for their upcoming semi-final against Rangers at Hampden on October 31 has been reduced by 500 seats. Aberdeen must cover the cost of these tickets, and the SPFL warned of more severe sanctions for future breaches.
