Hurricanes Make Cuts For Opening Night

The Carolina Hurricanes have trimmed their roster ahead of opening night, assigning forwards Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger Sorum to Chicago on Sunday. In additional moves, defenseman Juuso Valimaki was placed on waivers with the intent to send him to Chicago as well, while forward Seth Jarvis is set to be placed on injured reserve and removed from the active roster.

Carolina currently plans to carry three goaltenders after opting to keep Cayden Primeau instead of risking waivers. Position battles remain open for the sixth defenseman role between Charles Alexis Legault and Mike Reilly, as well as the twelfth forward spot between Nic Deslauriers and Jesperi Kotkaniemi. General manager Eric Tulsky is scheduled to hold a press conference Monday morning.
