The Boston Bruins have placed veteran defenseman Henri Jokiharju on waivers ahead of the 2026-27 NHL season. Jokiharju is entering the second season of a three-year, $9 million contract but did not fit into head coach Marco Sturm's regular lineup plans as the team finalized its roster.
Boston's offseason acquisitions of Will Borgen and Connor Clifton added depth to the right side of the blue line, making Jokiharju expendable. During the 2025-26 season, Jokiharju recorded two goals and 13 assists across 41 games for the Bruins.
