Bruins Notes: Poitras, Zacha, Lindholm

Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced that forward Matthew Poitras will begin the season on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury suffered on September 22. Once healthy, Sweeney indicated Poitras will receive extended opportunities at the NHL level. Due to his two-way contract and prorated calculations, Poitras will start the campaign carrying a minimal salary cap hit of $30,990.

Sweeney also shared roster updates regarding other key forwards, confirming plans to continue contract extension discussions with Pavel Zacha, who is entering the final year of his deal after scoring 30 goals last season. Additionally, Sweeney addressed top-line center Elias Lindholm, labeling him as a strong complementary player as Lindholm enters the third year of his seven-year contract.
