Anthony Gordon clashed with the former Mexico boss during England's 3-2 win at the 2026 World Cup

Former Mexico manager Javier Aguirre has apologized to Anthony Gordon for swearing at him during England's 3-2 victory at the 2026 World Cup. Aguirre addressed the exchange during his unveiling as the new head coach of Valencia, describing his remark as a silly, spur-of-the-moment reaction in the heat of competition.
Gordon stated that he was not insulted by the comment and viewed it as a compliment during the match. Aguirre, who replaced Carlos Corberan at Valencia, revealed that he hopes to have Gordon sign a photograph of the incident when Valencia play Barcelona in January 2027.
