The WRU is set to announce a new chair over the next few weeks

Los Angeles-based businessman Lyndon Faulkner has emerged as a major contender alongside Harry Bowcott to become the new chair of the Welsh Rugby Union. Final interviews were recently conducted at the Sport Wales office in Cardiff by a WRU board panel, narrowing the race to replace Richard Collier-Keywood down to a contest between Faulkner and Bowcott.
Faulkner, a former Newport and Pontypool rugby player, previously led Pelican Products and held senior roles at Microsoft and Technicolor. The incoming WRU chair will oversee the board's contentious plan to reduce Welsh professional rugby from four teams down to three.
