England and Bath flanker Sam Underhill is out for months with a ruptured bicep that requires surgery.

Bath and England flanker Sam Underhill will miss this autumn's Nations Championship after rupturing his biceps during Bath's Premiership opener against Harlequins. The 30-year-old was injured during the 48th minute of the victory at The Stoop and is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday. Bath expect him to remain sidelined until December or January, ruling him out of England's November matches against Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.
Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan confirmed the diagnosis following a scan, expressing disappointment for the 51-cap international. Underhill previously missed summer tests due to shoulder surgery. Bath are also dealing with several other injuries, including prop Jamie Bhatti, who suffered a broken forearm in pre-season, and Vilikesa Sela, who is sidelined with a toe injury until November.
