Molineux, Hamilton ruled out of Bangladesh ODIs; McGrath to captain

Tahlia McGrath will captain Australia in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh in Brisbane from October 9 to 14, 2026. Regular captain Sophie Molineux has been ruled out of the series due to a hip injury sustained after returning from The Hundred, while all-rounder Lucy Hamilton will also miss out due to a minor quad strain.

Both Molineux and Hamilton are expected to return for the subsequent T20I series against New Zealand starting October 18 in Sydney. If Molineux is unable to play, vice-captain Ashleigh Gardner is slated to lead the team. Meanwhile, fast bowler Darcie Brown remains sidelined from both series due to a back injury.
