WREXHAM U18s progressed in the EFL Youth Alliance Cup following a 3-2 win at Blackpool.
Wrexham's youth side progressed to the next round of the EFL Youth Alliance Cup following a 3-2 victory against Blackpool. Wes Graham opened the scoring midway through the first half before Blackpool leveled after the break. Although Graham missed a penalty, he scored his second goal in the 67th minute, and Jayden Smyth added a third in the 88th minute before Blackpool netted a late stoppage-time consolation.
Professional Development Phase lead coach Craig Knight praised his squad's resilience in what he described as an intense, end-to-end match. Knight also commended Graham, comparing the striker to an old-fashioned number nine after scoring a brace following a midweek goal against Salford City.
