The Story in 60 Seconds

Lyon attacking midfielder Pavel Sulc revealed he rejected a potential club-record transfer to Championship side Wrexham because he did not want to live in a small Welsh town. The 25-year-old Czech Republic international had been linked with a rumoured £35m permanent move to Phil Parkinson's side over the summer, but chose to remain in Ligue 1.

Following his transfer comments, Sulc endured a difficult outing on Tuesday when he was sent off in Czechia's 2-0 Nations League defeat against England. Referee Halil Umut Meler upgraded Sulc's initial yellow card to a straight red after a VAR review of a challenge on Elliot Anderson.
