Antonio Vergara became the latest player to make his debut for the Italy national team during a 1-1 UEFA Nations League draw against France. Manager Roberto Mancini has now handed senior debuts to seven players across just three matches of his second stint as CT, bringing his career total across two spells to 66 debutants.
Vergara follows recent first-time caps given to Michael Kayode, Matteo Ruggeri, Sebastiano Esposito, Alessandro Romano, Issa Doumbia, and Mohamed Ali Zoma. Meanwhile, uncapped squad members Marco Carnesecchi, Massimo Pessina, Daniele Ghilardi, and Eddy Kouadio remain in contention for upcoming fixtures.
