Tottenham target Arthur Dias appears set to qualify for a UK work permit after making his senior Brazil debut and logging significant minutes for Athletico Paranaense. The 19-year-old defender debuted under Carlo Ancelotti during Brazil's 4-2 victory over Australia on Tuesday. Dias' domestic playing time in Brazil's top flight now looks sufficient to meet the FA's 15-point Governing Body Endorsement threshold for an automatic permit.
Spurs previously had a €21m (£18.2m) permanent transfer offer for 80% of Dias' rights rejected during the summer, with Athletico Paranaense seeking approximately €30m (£26m). Tottenham have reportedly planned further approaches for the defender, who has also drawn scouting interest from Barcelona, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, and Brentford.
